To Hampton Street Entrance:

From Interstates 64 & 95
• Take the Boulevard exit #78 (Route 161)
• Go south on the Boulevard (Route 161) for two miles
• Turn left at Cary Street and go 1/2 mile
• Turn right at Meadow Street and go one mile
• Turn right at Pennsylvania Avenue and go one block the parking lot ahead

From the Powhite Parkway (Route 76) via the Downtown Expressway (I-195) (From Southside, Midlothian)
• After the James River bridge toll plaza, get in the right lane
• Bear right onto the Downtown Expressway (I-195 East)
• Take the first exit, bear left onto Maplewood Avenue, and go one block
• Turn left at S. Sheppard Street and go four blocks
• Turn right at Cary Street (Route 147) and go east 1/2mile
• Turn right at Meadow Street and go one mile
• Turn right at Pennsylvania Avenue and go one block the parking lot ahead

From the Downtown Expressway (I-195) South (Heading south from the West End)
• Take the Cary Street/Grove Avenue exit ramp and bear left
• At the first stoplight, turn left at Cary Street (Route 147)
• Continue on Cary Street east for 1-1/2 miles
• Turn right at Meadow Street and go one mile
• Turn right at Pennsylvania Avenue and go one block the parking lot ahead

From Downtown Richmond (Heading west from Ninth and Main Streets)
• Take Main Street west about two miles
• Turn left at Meadow Street and go one mile
• Turn right at Pennsylvania Avenue and go one block to the parking lot ahead

To Nature & Visitor Center:

From Interstates 64 & 95
• Take the Boulevard exit #78 (Route 161)
• Go south on the Boulevard (Route 161) for two miles to the Columbus statue
• Turn right at Grant Street/Blanton Avenue (Route 161) and go 3/10th mile to the Carillon monument
• Turn left at Park Drive (Route 161) and go 3/10th mile
• Turn left at Shirley Lane (last left before the Boulevard Bridge) and go one block (past the Children's Farm entrance)
• Bear left (not the hard left onto Westover Road) and go one block into Byrd Park
• Turn right at Shields Lake Drive and continue around the lake to the Nature & Visitor Center parking lot on the right

From the Powhite Parkway (Route 76) via the Downtown Expressway (I-195) (From Southside, Midlothian)

• Turn left at Shields Lake Drive and continue around the lake to the Nature & Visitor Center parking lot on the left.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is right off Interstate 95 and is convenient to Interstates 64 and 295. Located at 1800 Lakeside Avenue in Richmond, Va., the Garden sits at the corner of Lakeside Avenue and Hilliard Road. It is just minutes north of downtown Richmond and is close to many other area attractions, accommodations and dining. If you need help with directions, please call (804) 262-9887.

  • Gates open for all concerts at 5:30pm
  • Opening bands will start at 6:00pm and the main act will start at approximately 7:30pm unless otherwise noted.
  • This is an OUTDOOR concert venue. Be sure to dress for the weather.
  • All shows are RAIN OR SHINE. Please bring rain gear and umbrellas if there is a chance of rain.
  • There is no reserved seating. There are no chairs available, so be sure to bring your own chair or blanket.
  • No food / beverages or coolers will be allowed into the concert area. Food, beer and wine are available at reasonable prices.
  • Cash and credit/debit cards are accepted at the gate for ticket purchases only.

Parking
Free parking is available in the garden parking lots on the garden grounds. Parking is limited and is utilized on a first-come, first-served basis. We strongly suggest that you carpool to the concerts with your friends, as this will allow for more parking room for everyone (among other benefits). Remember, if you are planning to drink at the show, make sure you have a designated driver to get you home safely.

From Downtown Richmond (I-95 North)
From I-95 North take Exit 80, the Lakeside Avenue exit. Keep to the right and take the right at the first light onto Lakeside Avenue. (You will see the brown Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden sign.) Follow Lakeside. You will see the Garden entrance just after you cross the intersection at Lakeside Avenue and Hilliard Road.

From Washington, D.C. (I-95 South)
From I-95 South take Exit 83B, the Parham Road Rt. 73 West exit. (Right before this exit you will see the brown Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden sign.) On Parham, quickly get into your far left lane. At the second stoplight, take a left onto Brook Road (also known as Route 1 South). At the third stoplight, take a right onto Lakeside Avenue. (At the light you will see a brown Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden sign.) As you go down Lakeside Avenue, you will see the Garden entrance to your right.

From Charlottesville (I-64 East, I-295 East)
Come into Richmond on I-64 East. Get on to I-95 North to Washington, D.C. Follow directions for I-95 North.

From Williamsburg (I-64 West, I-295 West)
Come into Richmond on I-64 West. Get on I-95 North to Richmond. Follow directions for I-95 North from Richmond.
